Dead Confederate
Dead Confederate
Dead Confederate take a post-grunge approach to their music, which also leans heavily on the group's psychedelic and Southern rock influences. Seeds for the band's formation were planted during the late '90s, when future bandmates Hardy Morris (vocals, guitar), Brantley Senn (bass), Walker Howle (guitar), John Watkins (keyboards), and Jason Scarboro (drums) bonded over a shared affinity for Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath....
Rogue Wave
Rogue Wave
Rogue Wave formed in 2002 when a newly-unemployed Zach Rogue left his San Francisco home, visited friends in New York City, and returned to California with nearly a full album's worth of textured, cerebral indie pop....
The BoDeans
The BoDeans
The BoDeans are a rock and roll and roots rock band formed in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1983 by Kurt Neumann (vocals & electric guitar) and Sam Llanas (vocals & acoustic guitar). In 1985, after adding a drummer and a bassist, the band signed a contract with Slash/Warner Records and recorded their first album....
The Mountain Goats
The Mountain Goats
The Mountain Goats are, for all practical purposes, the endlessly clever and prolific John Darnielle and whatever musicians he surrounds himself with, which means that while the soundscape may change from project to project, the overall tone and feel of Darnielle's work remains remarkably consistent....
Brave Combo
Brave Combo
Applying the polka and world-music dance treatment to a most unlikely song lineup ("People Are Strange," "Sixteen Tons," "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," "O Holy Night"), Brave Combo formed in the late '70s in the small Texas hometown of vocalist and guitarist Carl Finch, recorded three albums for the self-owned Four Dots label, and later moved to Rounder....

Any number of places have opened in the past year or so that try to straddle boundaries among restaurant, bar, club and sometimes other categories such as sports bar. One of these, the Old Rock House, has even created a category for itself: "Integrated Music Venue."

Great Place to Rock With Friends

I've been here a couple of times. During the day it's a quiet hangout where you can have a conversation without someone overhearing your stories of weekend romps. at night it's a fun place to checkout local bands. The three levels plus a patio give you ample choices of how to relax and enjoy a cold one. The dance floor is large and without the pillars you find as obstacles at other area venues. I wouldn't suggest going there if you're looking for your soulcougar, but you will have a memorable time out.
