2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and journalism professor Julie Williams shares her great-uncle's story in A Rare Titanic Family. The Caldwells--Albert, Sylvia, and their 10-month-old son--had been Presbyterian missionaries in Siam but fled to the Titanic in a desperate journey to save Sylvia's heath. Though they were rescued aboard Lifeboat 13, not even the sinking ship ended their fellow missionaries' hunt for the Caldwells.
