Pirates! (or, Gilbert & Sullivan Plunder'd)

Think of W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance.” Think of Johnny Depp’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. Try to think of both of them at the same time, and you’re on track for the next show at the Muny. Writer Nell Benjamin, arranger and orchestrator John McDaniel and director Gordon Greenberg have revised the 1879 hit with modern audiences in mind. The show makes its Muny debut starring Hunter Foster (the original Bobby Strong in “Urinetown,” and Sutton Foster’s brother)… Show more as the Pirate King. It’s Foster’s Muny debut, too.
