Often mentioned in the same breath as the legendary Jaco Pastorius, Wooten coaxes sounds from his instrument that make the most of its low-end allure. And he played alongside fellow bassists Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller on the well-regarded 2008 album, “Thunder.” By Calvin Wilson
