Leslie Nielsen

Father Ingvard, a Danish immigrant, served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Was an aerial gunner for the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Early big-screen roles were primarily dramatic in nature, including 1956 thriller Ransom! (remade in 1996 by Ron Howard) and sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet (1956).
