Topher Grace

As a youth appeared in theater productions with Chloë Sevigny, who also at times babysat him and his sister. Didn't like being called Chris so he dropped Chris from his first name and went by Topher. Wanted to be a pro tennis player but an ankle injury turned his attention to acting. Was discovered while performing in a high-school production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum by producers Bonnie and Terry Turner, whose daughter was also in the cast. Has appeared in three movies directed by Steven Soderbergh ( Traffic, Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve ). National Board of Review honored him in 2004 with their Best Breakthrough Performance by Actor award for In Good Company and P.S.
