As a teen, worked summers in her family's pizzeria in Sea Isle City, NJ. Was planning to go to law school when an acting class in her senior year of college led to her decision to become an actor. Appeared in beer ads as an Amstel Light Girl while living in New York after college. Cofounded the DreamYard Drama Project, an arts program for children.
