Zombieland

After a virus turns most people into zombies, the world's surviving humans remain locked in an ongoing battle against the hungry undead. Four survivors -- Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and his cohorts Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) -- abide by a list of survival rules and zombie-killing strategies as they make their way toward a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles.

Zombieland

This was a really great movie. I normally don't like horror movies, but this one was funny. Bill Murray's camio was great.

Must See: Zombieland

Zombieland is the funniest Zombie film since thriller (R.I.P Michael). If you want a guidebook on how to survive in a Zombie movie then this is your film. While Jesse Eisenberg plays the same character that was annoying in Adventureland it was a nice complement to Woody Harrelson’s persona. Woody better count his lucky stars that Ted Nugent was busy that day because he was perfect in this film. Zombieland is packed full of laughs which even the eight year old I was sitting next to loved. I’m not sure I agree with him being allowed in but the same way South Park is funny might have made the movie even better. Zombieland also included the best “Zombeo” (cameo played by zombie) which provides the biggest laughs of the film. So just remember buckle your seat belt and do lots of cardio because Zombieland is a must see in theaters.

Bloody Good!

Like a master chef, Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer has blended horror, humor, and yes, even a love story into a delicious mixture that is sure to satisfy and delight even the most squeamish movie goer. The film’s theme is a tragic yet all too familiar one where the world has once again succumbed to a pandemic virus that changes humans into crazed, flesh eating zombies. It’s puzzling that the CDC managed to whip up a vaccine against H1N1 in just a few months, yet in the over forty years since George Romero first brought our attention to this scourge in Night of The Living Dead, we still haven’t got a handle on this zombie thing. Those with weak stomachs fear not, though some of the scenes are remarkably graphic, gore takes a distant back seat to some genuinely funny shtick throughout the movie. The film begins with a narration by Jesse Eisenberg, who like the other members of the cast goes only by the name of his home city (Columbus). He has adopted a seemingly endless list of rules for survival in this harsh environment ranging from the ever sensible wearing of seat belts, to the more extreme measure of always shooting twice, thus insuring when a mutant is down, it stays down. His rules and his loner lifestyle have thus far served him well, but he soon meets up with Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and they both reluctantly set aside their instincts to remain solitary and begin a quest to nowhere in particular together. Harrelson exhibits true talent in dealing with mindless zombies (maybe it was all those years as a bartender on Cheers) and killing the ever hungry flesh eaters is obviously his calling in life. The joy he obtains from the hunt is only outdone by his obsession for Twinkies whose shelf life is rapidly running out (who knew?) and are surprising hard to locate.
Eventually the guys meet up with Abigail Breslin and Emma Stone, a pair of grifter sisters who were pulling scams long before the virus breakout and aren’t about to let a little thing like a world apocalypse change their scheming ways. You’d think being outnumbered a gazillion to one by zombies would make the few remaining normal humans want to stick together, but the girls are more interested in stealing cars and having one final fling in a California amusement park than uniting as a team. Of course it all comes together in the end with a raging battle at the fun park which like the rest of the movie is both bloody, scary, and hilarious all at the same time. As they drive off into the sunset both love and family are in the air. Zombieland is truly a unique blend of gore and comedy and brings a whole new meaning to “gut wrenching laughter”.

Original and Funny!!!

Although my wife is not a big fan of zombie movies, I persuaded her to see this movie with me. This movie is hilarious and very cleverly done. It has a lot of twists and subplots which flows very smoothly from scene to scene (a famous actor appears in it and was totally unexpected). If you want to get away from the real world and need to see a movie which has humor and an excellent story - this is it!! It is well worth the ticket price. Oh, before I forget, two things: my wife did like the movie and stay until the credits are over - you won't be disappointed.
