Four couples, all friends, descend on a tropical island resort. Though one husband and wife are there to work on their marriage, the others just want to enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon find, however, that paradise comes at a price: Participation in couples therapy sessions is mandatory. What started out as a cut-rate vacation turns into an examination of the common problems many face.

Couples Retreat is like the Break Up on Gilligan’s Island but not as funny. There are some hilarious scenes but unfortunately they wasted them all in the previews. The movie might help your relationship but unfortunately I saw it with my Dad because there was a shortage of new movies out. We both did agree that we could go without seeing any more men in Speedos for a while and that there is no way the men could get their female counterparts in real life. Vince Vaughn and the other non-Speedo wearing male actors had standard performances but came off watered down most likely to keep their PG-13 rating. If you are having trouble with your marriage this might be a nice break but for me it is a Don't See.

This movie was better than I had anticipated. It was actually pretty funny if you exclude the token "using the bathroom" scenes and the gross yoga lessons.
