Archer Alexander was born enslaved in Virginia, but made history in Missouri where his story is much like the lives of African-Americans in 1860. Archer is immortalized in the Emancipation Memorial, AKA the Freedman’s Memorial, a monument in Washington, D.C.. Come hear the fascinating & unknown story of this former slave and hero. This will be the first time for this presentation & members of Archer’s family will be present for the evening.
