The Collegium Vocale of St. Louis will present a concert of 4 sacred cantatas by Christoph Graupner, a contemporary of J. S. Bach. These wonderful pieces will be receiving their first performances in two hundred years. They were composed and performed in Darmstatdt, Germany between 1711 and 1728. They will be performed by the singers of the Collegium Vocale supported by instrumentalists playing instruments appropriate to the period, including trumpet, flute, oboe, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, and organ. This concert is a rare and unique opportunity to discover these marvellous works.
