The Jim Schoemehl Run was started in 2001 as Webster Groves High School student effort to raise money for the husband of Webster's former marketing teacher, Alicia Schoemehl. Since then, the WGHS marketing program has continued this student led and organized race. The run consists of a 5k, 10k and 1-mile fun run. This year's proceeds will be split between the ALS association and Denis Hart, who's been suffering from ALS since 2018. The run is themed after the Kentucky Derby and will feature a children's area with pony rides and a bouncy house. Snacks will be provided for attendees.
