Jeffrey Ricker reads from DETOURS: Joel Patterson should be happy returning from two-weeks in London where he met the man of his dreams, Phillip. Instead Joel is heading to Maine for his mother’s funeral. Her last request of him is to unload the family RV on a friend in California. But he picks up hitchhikers: Lincoln, an old fling, and his mother's ghost. Joel has to get the RV across country, ditch Lincoln, shake off his mother and get back to Philip on a route that is anything but straight.
