18th Annual St. Louis Regional Airport Open House and Fly-In 2012

Take a step back to the past and attend the 2012 Open House at St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto, IL. Guests can experience an amazing showcase of vintage planes, hot rods and classic automobiles as well as specialty booths with food and kids activities.

In past years, air show visitors have included a C-54 cargo plane, B-25J Mitchell Bomber, a P-51 Mustang and the oldest C-47 still flying in its original condition. This year, the Airport has also requested military aircraft from Scott Air… Show more Force Base and the latest in corporate jets.

Guests will be able board and explore aircraft on the ground as well as viewing them in the air. Special displays are provided for kids.

The car show has grown to over 100 entrants including street rods, antique autos, custom cars and motorcycles. A multi-national firearms display will give adults and kids alike a close up view of famous weapons.

Food and drink will be on sale and families are welcome to bring picnic baskets. Commercial booth space is also available for $15 or $20 including electricity.

Though the planes and cars will be gone on Sunday, kids age 8-17 can return with their parents for free flights sponsored by the EAA Chapter 864 Young Eagles. Advance sign up for flights can be done Saturday during the Fly-In or on Sunday morning.
